A $50,000 bond has been set for a woman in Fulton County charged with negligent homicide and a slew of other charges.

According to a report from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department filed June 20, 54-year-old Kamala Dawn Crone was involved in a head on crash June 17.

At approximately 4:15 p.m. an officer was traveling north on state highway 9 when he observed a head on traffic collision.

As he exited his vehicle, he observed a white female identified as Crone attempting to try to start her vehicle that was already running and attempting to put it in gear.

Crone had a strong odor of intoxicants about her person, bloodshot watery eyes and her speech was slurred.

The officer noted she also had trouble standing.

After stating she did not need medical attention, Crone was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Crone refused to take a field sobriety and chemical test. A check of her driving record indicated her license was suspended for a DWI in 2019.

The accident investigation showed Crone had crossed the center line and struck the owner of the other vehicle head on.

As a result, the passenger in the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the Fulton County Hospital.

A search warrant was obtained and served on Crone’s home for her blood sample which has been forwarded to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for testing.

Crone has been charged with negligent homicide, driving while intoxicated second offense, operation of a motor vehicle during suspension or revocation, refusal to submit to chemical test, driving left of center and no seatbelt.

As a condition of her bond, Crone must conduct twice weekly drug and alcohol testing.

At this time, a pretrial hearing is set for Sept. 1 with trial to take place Oct. 19 through 21.
