Gary Paxson, President & CEO of White River Health System (WRHS), is pleased to welcome Dr. Meagan Smith, Board-Certified Pediatrician, to The Children’s Clinic.

 

As a Pediatrician, Dr. Smith is responsible for the care of newborns, toddlers, children, and adolescents. She works with parents to closely monitor development through well-child check-ups and immunizations, as well as encourage nutrition, exercise, and sleep habits that will create a foundation of good health for children in her care.

 

Dr. Smith received a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with focuses in Biology, Kinesiotherapy, and Exercise Science from the University of Southern Mississippi.  She received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. She trained in Family Medicine Residency at Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and completed Pediatric training at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

 

“I am excited to join and serve this wonderful community as a resident and a provider,” said Dr. Smith. 

 

Dr. Smith relocated to Batesville with her husband, Will, and children Austin, 6, and Beaux, 1.

 

“We are fortunate to have an excellent group of providers at The Children’s Clinic, and we are excited to even further enhance that group with the addition of Dr. Meagan Smith,” said Gary Paxson. “We are glad she chose to practice at WRHS, and we know she will serve her patients well.”

 

Dr. Smith works alongside Drs. Premnath Chinnaiyan, Melody Moody, Amanda Smith, and APRN, Tyler Sandlin. The Children’s Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM and is accepting new patients. To make an appointment, call (870) 262-2200.
