Well, It’s another Sunday morning. “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” 1 John 4:16 (ESV)
I Love the way the new beginning of spring makes me feel. How the flowers and trees are anew with beauty. It always makes me think about how God’s promise is shown in His painstaking works with each leave and every flower petal. How He picks the perfect colors to paint the beautiful picture we see around every turn. I also think of how so many are just flying through this life and never take the time to look and see what God has done. We take it for granted that each year God will offer up a new painting of life to us and we can see it then. We tell ourselves we will slow down and enjoy God’s offerings then. What we miss is the one masterpiece that He has placed before us right then.
The same goes for the people in our lives, we tell ourselves that we will slow down and make the phone call. or we say “I’m going to take the time and go see that person,” but we don’t. We just keep going a thousand miles an hour with blinders on hoping nothing gets in our way to slow us down, and ignore the people we pass along the way. The sad thing is, we are missing God’s precious gifts to us. We are missing the time designed to share the love of others and before you know it, it’s too late to do it. We read in 1 John 4:7 (ESV) this “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” See, We choose to spend our time doing other things and pass the opportunity to just spend a little time saying “Hi” to someone else. We choose not to love as God has taught us to do and not to share the wonderful love God has for us with each other.
So, is there someone in your life that you should be talking to but chose to continue your own thing and not make a small amount of time for them? You tell yourself, “I will call later,” but you never do? We see in Colossians 3:16 (ESV) this truth, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” The Bible even tells us to share the time with others, to love each other. So, don’t you think it is time to slow down and smell the coffee? The knowledge shared between others only happens one way, by communicating with each other. Don’t you think it is time to share the knowledge with others and share the love God wants us to share? See, God just wants us to love one another and to share His great message of His love for us. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (ESV) There is no greater love than that.
So, As I set here this morning sipping my coffee I want to share this thought with you. God is real, he is all around us always. You can see this in His masterpiece of colors each spring. He Loves us and shares his beautiful handy work so we can all marvel at Him. So, If you have been meaning to spend time with a loved one, do it. Make time for others and the beauty they offer you, and share God’s love with them. Make it a priority and follow through. Nothing is better than for a friend or loved one to let you know how they love you. I would like to share that very love I’m talking about with you now. God truly loves each and every one of you and so do I.
