The 2nd annual Izard County Hometown Health Fair/Prescription Drug Take Back event is dschedule for Saturday, Apr. 30, 2022, from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at the Izard Country Fairgrounds building, 1927 La Crosse Road, Melbourne, Ark.

Izard County Sheriff’s Department staaff will be on hand to receive unwanted or outdated prescription drugs. They request that no liquids, sprays, needles, or patches be turned in at this event.

Guest appearances include Minion and the Paw Patrol. Door prizes include gas cards and more. There will be activities for the whole family. There will be a fire truck, patrol car, helicoptor and games for the kids. A hot dog, chips, and drink lunch will be provided until supplies are exhausted. KWOZ will have a live remote. White River Now is involved.

Health information booths and activities will include: Izard County Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Program, COAP peer support and recovery information and referral, TPCP Project Prevent, Izard County Fire Department, Ozarka Nursing Program, Reion 3 Partner for Success and Prevention Provider Programs, Arkanas Single Parent Scholarship Program, AFMC, Be Well Baby, and the Izard County Health Department.
