A Fulton County man faces charges of felony sexual indecency with a child following an investigation by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.

The investigation into allegations against 20-year-old Jakob Nichol began Dec. 8 when the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by the Arkansas Crimes Against Children Division (CACD).

CACD investigator Jeremy Wilson had conducted an interview with an alleged victim who stated she and Nichol were having sex. The victim provided details to authorities and at the time was 14.

The victim stated Nichol knew her age because he had attended her 14th birthday party.

The relationship between the victim and Nichol continued for less than a year and had ended prior to the victim’s 15th birthday. The victim stated she had not confided in anyone about the interactions because she did not want to “get Jakob in trouble”.

On Dec. 8, 2022, an investigator with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department spoke with Nichol who stated that the victim was his girlfriend and he would rather have an attorney present when he came to interview.

As of Jan. 6, Nichol has not come to the sheriff’s department nor returned calls to the Sheriff’s Office.
