A woman was arrested and now faces several charges in Sharp County after giving a fictitious name to the officer who conducted a traffic stop for littering.

According to an affidavit filed April 15 in Sharp County, on April 6, an officer with the Evening Shade Police Department was patrolling in the area of Hwy 11 and West Main when he observed the driver of a red Chevy S-10 discard something out the driver’s side window and on to the ground.

A traffic stop was conducted and while speaking with the driver, later identified as Vickie Johns, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The driver produced an insurance and registration card but gave the officer a fictitious name of Gene McCrackin, and later Dorthy Gene McCrackin. After both names failed to return, Johns provided her true name and it was determined there was a felony warrant for her arrest.

Johns then handed the officer a bag of a leafy green substance from her person, a search of the vehicle yielded marijuana cigarettes and a search of Johns a tin can with a baggie of white crystalline substance later determined to be methamphetamine.

As a result Johns faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, a class D felony; criminal impersonation in the second degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, defective equipment, failure to present driver’s license and littering.
