A Fulton County man is once again in the Fulton County Jail after failing to appear in court to answer to multiple felony charges stemming from an incident in May of 2020.

Charles Hodges, 27, was taken into custody June 14, 2021 after failing to appear to a June 3 court date to answer to the charges of residential burglary, a class B felony; aggravated assault, a class D felony; endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor and criminal mischief in the first degree, a class A misdemeanor.

According to an affidavit for warrant of arrest for Hodges, the incident resulting in charges occurred May 31, 2020 after officers were dispatched to a residence on North Pine Street in Salem for a break in.

When officers arrived, they were met by the homeowners who stated Hodges had been knocking at the door, however; the female victim stated she would not allow him in due to past incidences.

After being denied entry, Hodges went to the rear of the home and made entry into the bedroom of a minor female.

One of the victims then confronted Hodges at which time Hodges grabbed the man by the throat choking him out. He then began slamming the man around in the room.

The female homeowner and the minor female were able to make entry into a bedroom and lock the door to protect themselves.

Hodges then kicked in the door, entered and began throwing items around the room creating “substantial risk to the minor female who was present”.

One victim stated she believed Hodges was attempting to find medication which he was known to steal in the past.

Hodges was not present at the residence when officers arrived.

He has since bonded out.
