A 32-year-old woman is facing charges after allegedly beating up an 8-year-old child.

According to the affidavit filed Oct. 5 in Fulton County, 32-year-old London Bynum faces a felony count of domestic battery in the second degree, a class C felony.

On Oct. 4, Salem Police Chief Shad Overman was contacted by a Fulton County Department of Human Services Supervisor who stated they had received a child abuse complaint.

Overman met with the victim who stated Bynum had kicked the child in the stomach and legs leaving substantial bruising, as well as kicking her head, leaving a knot and scab.

A witness to the incident stated Bynum had beaten the victim after the victim had failed to make it to the restroom in time.

Other children in the home were interviewed and stated Bynum kicked the victim in the stomach and when the child fell to the floor, Bynum proceeded to kick her in the head and legs. It was also noted by the children Bynum previously physically abused the female children in the home through “slaps, hits and kicks”, but had not gotten physically abusive with the male children.

Bond for Bynum was set at $20,000 and she has since bonded out.
