A large crowd of students and their families is expected to gather on the grounds of the Highland Rebel Memorial football field this evening to participate in the 18th annual national Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ (FCA) Fields of Faith event hosted by the Highland High School’s Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS).

Students and members of the community are encouraged to gather at 5 p.m. and according to Mattie Ross, Mattie Ross, president of the FCS at Highland, the purpose of the event is to encourage and evangelize.

“Fields of Faith is a student led event where students invite, pray for, share with and challenge their peers to read the bible and follow Jesus Christ and an athletic field provides a neutral rally point where a community can come together. it’s an opportunity for students to stand together and share their faith. We want to invite everyone to come because it is an inter-denominational message, it is Christ centered and bible based all denominations are welcome,” Ross said.

This will be the first Fields of Faith event for Highland Schools and the community is invited to attend. The event will take place at Highland High School on the Rebel Memorial Football Field at 5 p.m., tonight.
