Many are waking up to discover their cellphones are not working, not only in the Tri-county area, but nationwide.
According to Hardy Police Chief Scott Rose, law enforcement has been informed there is a nationwide outage for those who utilize AT&T.
“Law enforcement agencies have been notified by AT&T that there is a nationwide outage. AT&T users will not work until further notice. If you have an alternate Internet service, you can connect to Internet to utilize many of your services,” Rose said.
According to Sharp County Dispatch those with AT&T as a service provider cannot make calls or texts including 911. At press time, there is no estimated restoration time.
