A Williford woman is facing charges in Sharp County after entering a home with the residents present, rifling through medication and taking food.

According to an affidavit for warrant of arrest for 44-year-old Casey Lunsford in late November, authorities were contacted regarding a residential burglary at a residence in Williford.

In speaking with one of the occupants of the home, the officer was told Lunsford arrived at the property and approached the front door of the home. Lunsford was repeatedly told she was not welcome on the property and to leave, however; instead of leaving, Lunsford began beating on the door of the residence and after several attempts to gain entry, was successful.

After Lunsford entered the home, the witness stated she said she “needed money for gas and to pay off debts.”

Lunsford was again told to leaved the property but refused and instead went to the kitchen and began looking through medications, taking food and eating the food.

When told the sheriff’s office was being called, Lunsford said she didn’t care, goading the witness to call the authorities. Lunsford said the police wouldn’t do anything to her.

At this point, the witness went to retrieve a firearm to force Lunsford to leave the property, but when he entered the bedroom to retrieve the firearm, he could hear Lunsford speaking to the other occupant of the home and when he returned, she had gone.

When speaking to the owner of the home, the officer was told Lunsford had come through the front door, and due to his disabilities, the owner was stuck In his chair and feared she would “rob them blind”. He stated Lunsford had been told multiple times to leave and instead had gone through his medications and taken food.

After speaking to all involved, the officer noted damage to the front door where it appeared Lunsford had used physical force to gain entry into the home and had either kicked the door or used her shoulder to force the locked door open.

As a result, Lunsford has been charged with residential burglary, a class B felony and criminal mischief in the first degree, a class a misdemeanor.
