Just five days shy of a year after an incident in Ozark Acres, where medical personnel were called for a report of a one-year-old child who had ingested medication, charges have been filed in Sharp County.

According to an affidavit for arrest for 31-year-old Cole Jordan filed Dec. 15, on Dec. 20, 2022 Det. Cody Bailey was dispatched to a residence in Ozark Acres and when he arrived, he spoke with Jordan.

Jordan signed a consent to search waiver and then proceeded to take Bailey to where the incident had occurred. Jordan stated he had taken four 200mg tablets of Seroquel prior to the incident and a search of the bedroom located approximately nine pills in the child’s playpen and in the floor under the pen.

There were also four firearms, three of which were loaded, located in the bedroom and a box of 66 hydrocodee pills packaged for pharmaceutical dispensing.

Multiple smoking devices and other paraphernalia were seized during the search as well.

Jordan was taken into custody and transported to the Sharp County Jail at that point.

Now, nearly one year later, Jordan has been charged with four counts of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a class Y felony; endangering the welfare of a minor in the first degree, a class D felony; possession of a schedule II controlled substance, a class D felony; and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by receiving. Bond for Jordan was set at $50,000.
