This Day in Arkansas Weather History…The Tornado Outbreak of March 29, 1976…(the Cabot Tornado)On March 29, 1976, five tornadoes hit in central and north central and northeast Arkansas. Of these tornadoes, two were rated F3. One hit in Cleburne County from east of Greers Ferry to near Drasco and Concord, killing one and injuring six. The most devastating tornado hit in Pulaski and Lonoke Counties, with the heaviest damage at Cabot. There, five people were killed, with 64 injured.
