A Cherokee Village man already charged with multiple charges regarding sex crimes in Sharp County, is now facing additional charges in Fulton County.

According to documents filed March 28 in Fulton County, Charles Edward Slater now faces two counts of rape, a class Y felony for offenses dating back to 1999-2000.

Slater appeared in court in Sharp County April 1 to answer to charges he was already facing in Sharp County including two counts of sexual assault in the second degree, a class B felony and in a separate case, four counts of rape, a classy Y felony.

Through his attorney, Slater entered a plea of not guilty to the charges of sexual assault in the second degree. Those charges stem from a series of incidents which occurred in June of 2015.

Slater also entered a plea of not guilty for the four counts of rape which are separate charges with a separate arrest date and stem from a series of incidents in from January of 2019 and December of 2023.

A warrant for Slater’s arrest has been issued on the charges in Fulton County, however; Slater is currently being held in the Sharp County Detention Center for the two initial arrests.

Bond for the Fulton County charges is set at $100,000; bond for the four counts of rape in Sharp County is set at $150,000; and bond for the charges of sexual assault in the second degree in Sharp County was initially set at $250,000, and a motion has been filed by Slater’s attorney to reduce bond to $100,000, but no answer has been filed by Judge Alex Bigger at this time.

Collectively, Slater’s bonds are $500,000.
