The Sharp County Senior Center located in Town Center in Cherokee Village is holding a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser Friday
“We are raising money for our home delivery meals. The people who are home bound and don’t have family around to help them. They can’t get out and don’t have a vehicle, this will help get meals delivered to their house and sometimes it’s hot meals, sometimes it’s frozen meals, but this gets a meal delivered to their home every day,” Collins said.
The funds raised will be used to benefit seniors in Sharp County.
“We’re having a spaghetti dinner. We are going to have spaghetti, green beans, a bread stick, salad, dessert and a drink for $8 a plate here at the center located at 2 Santee Drive in Cherokee Village. It will start at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and is either dine in or carry out,” Collins said.
For those who wish to support the fundraiser but are unable to attend, Collins said meal sponsorships will allow for meals to be delivered to patrons of the Sharp County Senior Center from Cave City to Williford and that thanks to the Bank of Cave City, the funds raised will go further toward helping seniors in need as the bank has agreed to match funds raised up to $600.
“If you want to sponsor a meal for someone, we are going to have some volunteers delivering meals to some of our home bound seniors and it will just be kind of something special for them and these volunteers are going to be delivering these meals to their homes,” Collins said. “Five days a week, we deliver a hot meal to them once a day and so this will just be a special thing for them. We would like to just invite the community to come out, see the center and support this event and our seniors.”
