The 70th Annual Pioneer Day celebration in Melbourne, Arkansas, will have many fun events. One of the traditionally enjoyed associated with the Day is the Rodeo which will take place Friday, April 30, beginning at 8 p.m. and following through to Saturday, May 1, at 6 p,m, at the Izard County Rodeo Arena at the Izard County Fairgrounds in Melbourne. This year, ACA/ARA Championship Rodeo (American Cowboys Association/Arkansas Rodeo Association) will run and Pro Rodeo Clown Ron “Ice Man” Hunter will be part of the show.
Rodeo events will include bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc, team roping, bull riding, calf roping, ranch bronc riding, barrel racing, breakaway roping, junior barrel racing and goat tying. The rodeo will be run by Rand Rodeo Company, Ralph and Tommy Rand, producers and will feature Travis Tate, Pro Rodeo Announcer. Books open April 26, 2021 from 7-10 p.m. Phone: (501) 730-5330. Admission for the rodeo for adults is $8, kids 6-12 $4, and under 6 free.
Elsewhere in Melbourne, the Kiddie Parade will start Saturday, May 1, at 10:15 a.m. followed by the Pioneer Day Parade at 11 a.m. Watch for more details.
