Melbourne High School FBLA members had a successful day at a recent State Leadership Conference held virtually in March.
FBLA, which stands for Future Business Leaders of America, is a national student organization for students who are interested in business or business education careers. The organization strives to develop competent and aggressive business leaders who have a high degree of character and confidence, and over 17,000 young people are in the Arkansas State Chapter alone.
Melbourne senior Allyson Smith, who currently serves as Arkansas’ State Vice-President as well the District VI President, came home with a 1st place finish and a $500 scholarship in the highest, most prestigious FBLA competition there is, one that involves a very rigorous interview process.
Another club member, sophomore Preston Stone, also exemplified by placing 2nd in the FBLA Networking Infrastructure competition. As a result of their outstanding performances, Smith and Stone both qualify to compete in the FBLA National Conference in June 2021.
