A man faces the charge of arson in Fulton County after setting fire to a neighbor’s residence.

According to an affidavit for warrant of arrest for 26-year-old Chandler Carlo, on June 16, authorities were dispatched to a house fire on Tate Street.

When they arrived, they were informed by firefighters that the fire had been intentionally set and began in a back bedroom of the residence.

While interviewing neighbors, Carlo, who smelled of petroleum was asked about the incident. Carlo told officers he had started a fire in his yard to burn trash and showed an officer the pile which contained plastic and clothing.

While showing the officer the fire, Carlo stated he was “quite the pyro and enjoyed fire.”

One neighbor told authorities Carlo had been seen walking across the street to the home where the fire occurred earlier that day.

The following day, authorities received a call from an individual Carlo had called to brag about the fire to after authorities left.

When authorities arrested Carlo, he stated he wanted the residents of the home gone and “was protecting his family and waited until no one was home” before setting the fire.

Bond for Carlo was set at $75,000.
