Law enforcement made quick work of apprehending the man responsible for breaking into the Liquor Store in Hardy in the early morning hours of April 10.
According to Hardy Police Chief Scott Rose, the suspect 22-year-old Joseph Domingo Lux Hernandez of Little Rock was caught on camera.
“The suspect threw rocks through the windows and entered the store and after a brief moment, went out of the store, grabbing a box of alcohol, dropping it while exiting the door that was broken,” Rose said.
Due to the damage to the alcohol and the box and the attempted theft as he passed the point of sale exiting the building he is charged with commercial burglary, theft property less than $1000 and criminal mischief.
“He was located near the construction side of the Casey’s general store in Hardy after the owner of the Liquor Store Renee Clay Circle posted the videos or pictures that were taken at a previous encounter with the suspect and his vehicle,” Rose said. “A witness notice the vehicle parked hidden behind the old sonic building.”Hardy Officer Anthony Gielen contacted the vehicle and located the suspect with the assistance of Sharp County Mike Zeiger and was able to place the suspect in custody still wearing the same clothing that he was wearing during the burglary.
Hernandez was placed under arrest and is being held in the Sharp County Jail.
Liquor Store Manager Teri Yates stated the store is open for business.
She also noted although camera and alarm systems were already in place, additional security will now be added.
