An Izard County woman is facing felony charges after attacking a home health aide with her vehicle.

According to the affidavit for warrant of arrest for 61-year-old Tammy Boyce, on Oct. 7, deputies Steve Davidson and Brock Simons were dispatched to what resembled an aggravated assault.

Davidson traveled to a location on Calvin Jones Road where he believed Boyce to be, and Simons met with the alleged victim at a location in Calico Rock.

While speaking to the victim, she told Simons she had arrived at Boyce’s residence a few minutes early and opted to stay in her vehicle until her shift began. While in the vehicle, she could hear Boyce yelling, but assumed Boyce was yelling at some cats.

When her shift began, the victim exited her vehicle and headed toward the house.

Boyce was visibly upset and began yelling insults and profanities at the victim demanding she leave the residence.

The victim elected to leave and walked across the street in an attempt to get phone service to use her GPS to travel to the next location.

Boyce then entered her vehicle and struck the back of the victim’s vehicle leaving a dent on the driver’s side door by the handle.

After hitting the car, Boyce then accelerated enough to throw rocks and swerved toward the victim causing the victim to leap off the roadway in order to avoid being hit.

Boyce then left at a high rate of speed.

At this time, the victim called 911, got in her vehicle and waited for an officer to arrive. While waiting for the officer, she was advised by her employer to leave the property due to the nature of the incident that had occurred.

She then contacted Simons and stated she was leaving the residence to travel to a safer location. While on the road, she encountered Boyce. Boyce appeared to accelerate and maneuvered her vehicle from her lane into that of the victims causing the victim to drive into the ditch rather than be hit head on.

The Sheriff’s Department was contacted by the victim’s employer and stated Boyce had contacted them and stated she did not want the victim to return to her residence or provide care and stated she had intentionally struck the victim’s vehicle with her own. She then threatened to strike the victim in the head with a hammer if she was still at her home when she returned.

As a result, Boyce was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, a class D felony and terroristic threatening, a class D felony. Bond for Boyce was set at $10,000.
