A man in Izard County is facing multiple charges including terroristic threatening in the first degree.

According to an affidavit for warrant of arrest for Robert Todd Green, authorities were dispatched to a residence near the Izard/Independence County line for a a report a woman was being held against her will by Green and was armed and dangerous.

When deputies arrived in the area to assess the situation, authorities were informed by the victim that Green was known to “patrol the woods” and described Green as “paranoid, erratic and violent”.

It was determined Green had left the area and the victim was able to make her way to law enforcement and was evaluated by medical personnell.

When describing the property, the victim told police there were multiple outbuildings and structures on the property and that Green had mentioned on more than one occasion he has “suicide by cop” ideations and had access to multiple firearms.

Due to the information obtained and the victim now being safely removed from the situation, officers opted not to pursue Todd at the time.

After leaving the area, the victim told authorities Green was known to be physically and verbally abusive and had threatened to kill the victim multiple times as well as made threats to kill anyone who attempted to help the victim.

The victim stated Todd has pointed a gun at her multiple times, has fired a gun inside the residence and at the residence in the past.

Although Green had not assaulted the victim the day of the incident, she was able to show multiple bruises to officers from an assault two days prior.

On June 13, Green was interviewed by investigators with the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and acknowledged he often “saw red” and would throw or break things and become verbally abusive toward the victim.

Green also admitted to threatening to kill the victim and being physically abusive in the past.

He also admitted to shooting in the direction of the residence in which the victim lives because he was angry but noted he and the victim do not share the residence.

During the investigation, authorities played recordings for Green in which Green could be heard screaming and the sounds of glass shattering and other items being broken.

In the series of recordings, Green can be heard telling the victim he would put a gun in her face and later stated “don’t you call nobody.. I’m going to shoot them first, and then you and then me”.

A struggle could also be heard on the recording.

In text messages sent by Green to the victim on June 4, which was the same date of the initial incident, Green stated “I can’t do this without you. I’ll never question you or touch you again.” in another message, “and most important, I’ll never lay a finger on you ever again.”

As a result, Green is charged with terroristic threatening in the first degree, two counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member, terroristic act and domestic battery in the third degree.

Bond for Green was set at $25,000 and he has since bonded out.
