The Highland Senior Band earned the title of 4A State Honor Ensemble at the 2026 Arkansas School Band and Orchestra State Concert Contest. There were 18 bands competing in Class 4A. Highland had the top score, making them the state champion concert band. The contest designates an honor ensemble (highest scoring ensemble) in each classification 1A – 7A, with varying numbers of bands competing in each classification. The 4A classification had the most bands (18) competing of any classification. Highland was also the only Band in class 4A to receive a superior rating from all three judges. This is the third time that the Highland Band has named the honor ensemble since the beginning of this competition (2022, 2024, 2026). They have earned the honor, every year they have been eligible to compete. Fifty-two students in grades 9-12 participate in the Highland Senior Band. The Highland Band is directed by Greg Bruner with assistance from Hope Bruner, Whitney Smith, and Addison McIntosh.
