A Fulton County man is in custody after being charged with sex crimes against a six-year-old victim.
According to an affidavit filed in Fulton County, on July 15, instigators were notified of a sexual assault against the child. Investigators with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and Crimes Against Children Division were informed in the spring or fall of 2021, 33-year-old Jansen Smith, had gone into the victim’s room and told the victim to touch his penis.
The victim stated she did not want to do it with her bare hand and used a blanket to cover her hand. The victim noted this took place prior to school as Smith was taking her to the bus stop that morning.
While at the just stop, Smith had the victim sit on his lap and again pulled out his penis forcing the victim once again to touch him.
The victim also said there had been other occasions where Smith had entered the room touching himself and that he would “shake it really fast”. The victim then demonstrated a stroking motion.
When asked if she felt safe in the home, the victim stated she did when Smith was not at the residence.
Due to details described by the victim, investigators spoke with the mother of the victim who corroborated certain personal details about Smith’s body.
A phone interview was conducted with Smith during which he denied the victim seeing him naked and accused other males in the family of assaulting the victim.
Smith faces two counts of second-degree sexual assault, a class B felony. Bond for Smith has been set at $100,000.
