An Evening Shade man who was already facing five counts of sexual assault in the second degree, a class B felony, has new charges in a separate case of two counts of rape, a class Y felony; four additional counts of sexual assault in the second degree, a class B felony and three counts of sexually grooming a child, a class A misdemeanor.

The newly added charges against 21-year-old-Tyler Deaton, stem from a second investigation which began in November of 2022.

According to the affidavit for warrant of arrest in late November, authorities received correspondence from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division Investigator Cham Buchanan concerning two additional potential victims.

The first victim in the most recent set of charges told authorities Deaton would touch the victim inappropriately and force the victim to touch Deaton inappropriately on multiple occasions.

The incidents took place over the span of approximately two years.

The second victim told authorities Deaton would threaten to harm the victim’s siblings if the vicim did not cooperate with Deaton’s demands.

The victim shared specific details with authorities which indicated varying levels of violations to the victim’s body.

As a result of this investigation, Deaton faces charges of two counts of Rape, four counts of sexual assault in the second degree and one count of sexually grooming a child.

Earlier in the year, Deaton had previously been charged with five counts of sexual assault in the second degree when in May of 2022, Detective Dennis Gay received a report from Investigator Joshua Dixon from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division about potential sexual abuse of a minor.

The report stated the victim in this case stated the abuse had been ongoing and that Deaton had assaulted the victim approximately 50 times over a two-year period. The victim provided detailed accounts of the various forms of assault which Deaton imposed.

As a result, Deaton was charged with five counts of sexual assault in the second degree, a class B felony.
