The Izard County Office of Emergency Management (OES) and the Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Office have partnered to bring a valuable workshop to our area on October 17, 2022, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Horsehoe Bend City Hall. The workshop is Emergency Preparedness for the Community.
The workshop will be conducted by Gary Dickerson the OES director and Elizabeth Daigle the Family and Consumer Science Agent for Izard County. The workshop will cover a range of emergencies with topics to prepare your home and your business for emergency situations.
Izard County has been victim to fires, tornadoes, floods, winter weather (ice), earthquakes, and fire. The evening will be designed to assist you and your family on how to prepare for random acts of Mother Nature. We will be discussing how to ensure you are prepared with basic knowledge on how to keep your home and business safe. Discussions will include basic knowledge of weather events, financial preparedness, saving personal and business memorabilia, and keeping safe during a natural disaster by properly storing and cooking food.
The workshop will be conducted at the Horseshoe Bend City Hall. On October 17, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. Please call the Izard County Extension Office at (870) 368-4323 to pre-register to attend the workshop. The workshop is free as a public service to the residents of Izard County. Door prizes will be given at the meeting that can be used in a natural disaster. Please take time to attend this educational workshop and be prepared for any disaster. Families and business owners are encouraged to attend.
