The Ash Flat Library will hold an Easter Adventure through the month of April in partnership with the Highland School District. Go to the Ash Flat walking trail and read “How to catch the Easter bunny”; use the geocashing app and find the seven cashes around the Ash Flat to collect the pieces of the bunny and Take the bunny to the Ash Flat Library to pick up your Easter Surprise.
The Cave City Eastern Run-Walk is Saturday morning at 9. Proceeds will benefit the Cave City Fire, Rescue and Police Departments. The registration fee for the half marathon is $45, the 10k is $35 and the 5k is $30. A virtual run is also available for $40.
There will be an Easter on Main event April 20 at the Hardy Civic Center beginning at 10:30 a.m.Refreshments, photo opportunities; bubble globe for the kids, hippos/dinos and most importantly, an encounter with Christ. The community is invited to attend.
The Highland Elks Lodge #2539 will be held April 19 at 11 a.m. at Tohi Nature Trail located on Hospital Drive in Cherokee Village. This event is for children ages 12 and under. Hotdogs, candy and prizes will be given away.
The Cherokee Village Fire Department will hold an Easter Egg Hunt April 20 beginning at 2 p.m. at the Baseheart Fire Station located at 1 Baseheart Road in Cherokee Village. The event is open to children ages 12 and under.
The First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village will present an outdoor walk-through Easter drama “The way of the Cross”, that will illustrate stories from the life of Christ, there will three showing of the presentation Saturday at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.The community 870-257-3112.
The Izard County Area Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Crown Lake Resort in Horseshoe Bend. There will be prizes and giveaways, candy and goodies. There are two age groups birth to age five and six to 12.
An Easter Egg Hunt and Movie on the hill is Saturday at Sourthfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem. The Egg Hunt begins at 5:30 for ages birth to 12. There will be toys and candy prizes, games, and pictures with the Easter bunny. After the hunt, the movie “Hop to Play” will be shown… there will be popcorn and refreshments.
The Spring Festival Community Outreach is Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church In Horseshoe Bend. There will be an egg hunt, bounce house, games, burgers and hot dogs. The event is free and open to the public.
***The Evening Shade Community Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday at the Evening Shade Walking Track. Children up to sixth grade are welcome to participate. There will be four age groups and two prizes per group. This event is Sponsored by the Evening Shade Ministerial Alliance. There will also be a free hotdog lunch.
