On March 1, the Family Dollar Stores of Arkansas, LLC., entered into a lease agreement in order to occupy the building that housed the old Fred’s location in Melbourne, owned by Son and Retha Lamb. There will be a grand opening of a Dollar Tree/Family Dollar store at 609 E. Main Street in the early summer months. This particular location will be incorporating elements from both Dollar Tree and Family Dollar to offer the extra value that customers love.
The building is approximately 12,000 sq. feet and will be about the same size as other Dollar Trees and Family Dollars in the area. The new business will bring additional tax revenue to the area and provide consumers with another source of products and goods. “At the end of the day, we want to keep as much as of the money in Melbourne as we can to benefit the citizens and stimulate the economy,” noted Trey Lamb.
