Authorities have released details regarding a shooting on Blackstone Street in Cave City Aug. 20.
Multiple agencies responded to a residence in Cave City after a report of a woman who had been wounded by gunshot. The victim contacted a Cave City officer stating she’d been wounded.
When authorities arrived on scene, they heard gunshots coming from inside the home and quickly made entry at which time they found the suspect, Joseph Panariello, who had sustained what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.
Panariello was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The victim sustained two gunshot wounds and was airlifted to an area hospital. Others present in the home at the time of the incident were not injured.
