In 2004, Rebekah Gould was tragically murdered In Melbourne, Arkansas. The murder was unsolved. It remained a cold case for 16 years. And then, George Jared stepped in.

He is the recipient of first place awards with the AP Managing Editors and the AP Association. He has written four books on true crime stories and co-authored “A Novel Wait” a fiction, with his daughter…
A Lyon College graduate, he began his journalism career in 2004. Months into that job he started covering the Rebekah Gould murder case. “I was there from day one. I actually saw her body when they found it. He (the murderer) wasn’t on anybody’s radar until 2019.” Jared, and his investigative partner, Jennifer Bucholtz, lured Rebekah’s killer onto a Facebook page, which led to the murderer’s arrest.
Jared has been interviewed by numerous podcasts, newspapers, documentary filmmakers, and other media outlets, including ”The Murder Squad,” Hell and Gone” and Discovery ID’s “Still a Mystery.” He was a featured speaker at CrimeCon in 2021 and 2022. CrimeCon is the largest crime conference in the world devoted to examining various aspects of crime and criminal behavior. Jared is also a member of the Case Breakers, a national organization dedicated to solving some of the most notorious unsolved crimes including the Zodiac murders.
What drives Jared’s crime investigations? “From the day I saw Rebekah’s body, I wanted to see justice for her and her family; justice for every murder victim. I want every murderer to be convicted, to get them off the streets, to spend the rest of their lives behind bars: in essence, to have their normal lives ended, as were their victims.” “I visited her murderer in prison. He was pure evil.”
