According to Cherokee Village Police Chief Monte Lane “on February 6, 2024 a report was taken in regards to a sexual assault on a family member that had taken place by Charles Edward Slater of Cherokee Village.
An investigation took place by the Cherokee Village Police Department and the Arkansas State Police. Slater was arrested without incident on February 9, 2024 in Cherokee Village at a home under construction where he was working. Slater was charged with four counts of Rape, class Y Felonies and was transported and is being held at the Sharp County Jail.”
