April Fools Day shooting was no prank

A Williford man was taken into custody April 1 and is being held on charges of domestic battery in the first degree, a class B felony and public intoxication. The arrest followed a 911 call after Kenneth Waters allegedly shot and wounded a female victim.

Although the initial incident occurred on Powell Hollow Road, authorities were notified when the victim sought medical treatment at a local healthcare facility for her injuries. She was treated and transported to a medical facility in Little Rock for further treatment.

Waters was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Sharp County Jail awaiting the filing of of formal charges. We will continue to follow the story and provide more information as it becomes available. As this is Easter weekend it is possible more information may not be available until after the holiday. Please be patient as authorities continue their investigation.
