Thanks to the thoughtfulness and hard work of one Cherokee Village resident, the Cherokee Village Animal Control is now offering gift packs while supplies last to those who adopt a cat.
Dee Martin, has spent countless hours knitting hats, which she has been selling at various craft fairs and local businesses to raise money for the project.
“I got the money for this by selling the hats I knitted. There is still a basket of them for sale at the Wholistic Market by the movie theater in Highland now,” Martin said.
Thanks to Martin’s generosity, a gift pack will accompany a cat or kitten to their new home.
“We spent $29.50 one each package and it contains a litter box, clumping cat litter, litter scoop, 3.15 pound bag of dry cat food, two cans of wet food, food and water bowls, corrugated scratching pad, pack of treats and three toys,” Martin said. “This will be helpful for anyone who has been thinking about adopting a cat, but were concerned about getting the needed supplies to make a home for it.”
For more information, to adopt a cat or kitten or to donate to the project, contact the Cherokee Village Animal Control at 870-994-4445.
“They can make an appointment to meet the cats and hopefully, find your new best friend,” Martin said. “We just have some wonderful cats.”
