A man faces charges in Fulton County after deputies were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Squirrel Hill Road Feb. 19.

According to the report, the victim called 911 and reported a man later identified as 34-year-old Chad Allen Fry had gotten out of the vehicle and began cussing the caller.

When deputies arrived on scene, authorities found the vehicle had been abandoned. After calling out and attempting to locate anyone hiding nearby, Fry and a female passenger were found hiding approximately 20 yards away in a wooded area.

Fry became verbally aggressive and failed to comply with commands not to reach for a weapon he stated he had in his pocket.

When Fry reached for the weapon a second time, authorities attempted to restrain him and a struggle ensued.

After placing him in cuffs, Fry continued to shout profanities, screaming at everyone on scene and beating on the inside of the patrol vehicle windows and doors.

When they arrived at the jail, Fry became combative with jail staff and kicked a corrections officer in the genital area.

Fry also refused to submit to a chemical test.

As a result, he has been charged with battery in the second degree, a class D felony; resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage.

His bond was set at $10,000.
