A teen in Fulton County has been charged as an adult after breaking into a local medical facility and stealing items from the property.

According to an affidavit for warrant of arrest for 17-year-old Hunter Layne Taylor filed July 24 in Fulton County Circuit Court, on June 20, Taylor traveled to the Spring River Dispensary shortly before 4 a.m., gained entry to the property over a fenced area and entered the facility.

Hunter then proceeded to take several items and cause damage to other items, totaling $8,300 in damages.

The vehicle shown on camera, described as a white single cab Chevy truck was discovered to one which had been reported stolen from Cherokee Village.

The items stolen from the property were later discovered by a family member Taylor was staying with.

When he was confronted about the items, Taylor said he’d purchased them for $150.

The family member, not knowing the items had been stolen, removed them from her home and took them to another location to be disposed of.

After later learning about the stolen vehicle and the damage cause to the Dispensary, she contacted law enforcement and took them to the location where she had discarded the stolen items.

A search warrant was conducted at the residence Taylor was staying where clothing matching those worn on security footage were found, including shoes which matched the prints left behind at the scene.

Taylor was read his juvenile Miranda warning rights in from of Juvenile Probation Officer Ashton Hester, as well as his guardian.

Initially, Taylor said he did not want to speak, but then decided to talk to officers denying any involvement in criminal activity.

Taylor was also discovered to be on camera at a gas station in Walnut Ridge driving the stolen truck.

Juvenile Officer Cathy Schaufler was advised of the activity and advised an affidavit was being forwarded to the prosecutors office.

Taylor was then taken to a juvenile detention center in Craighead County.

As a result, Taylor faces charges of commercial burglary, a class C felony and theft greater than $5,000 but less than $25,000 also a class C felony. Bond for Taylor has been set at $10,000 and he is expected in court Aug. 5, five days before he will turn 18.
