The polls have come to a close across the State of Arkansas and although some results are still trickling in, the unofficial results are telling.

In the race for Sharp County Judge, Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts received 4,293 votes and Jeremy Langston received 1,681 votes.

In the Ash Flat City Council Race for Ward 1, Position 1, Mike Nix received 184 votes and Glen Halfacre 79 votes.

For the Cave City, City Council Ward 1, Position 2, Melanie Lanie received 144 votes and Jill Carr 219 votes.

For the Cave City School Board race for Position 3, Jeff Eddy received 612 votes and Caleb Qualls 1,000 votes .

A three way race in Cherokee Village resulted Steven Rose with 897 votes, Chris Burleson with 95 votes and Rob Smith with 426 votes. In Fulton County, Rose 169, Smith 114 and Burleson 19.

In the race for Cherokee Village City Council Ward 3, Position 2, Councilman Steve Thompson received 891 votes and Joey Whited 435 votes.

In the race for Evening Shade City council, Chaney Emmerich received 26 votes and Chan Bailey 114 votes for Position 6.

In Hardy, there were several contested races. For Ward 2, Position 1, Jason Creasey received 122 votes and Scott Quintana 107 votes. For Ward 2, Position 1, Tony Berry received 148 votes and Bruce Thurow 82 votes. For Ward 3, Position 1, Phillip Horrell received 83 votes and Mark Gordon 153 votes. 

In the City of Highland, voters selected a new mayor with Kyle Crawford receiving 203 votes and Billy “Turk” Johns receiving 194 votes.

In Williford’s race for Recorder-Treasurer, Ronda Schilling received 10 votes and Phillip Allen 10 votes. Unless either candidate yields, there will be a tiebreaker held in the near future likely in the form of rolling dice. 

For Constable District 6, Luke Vandervort received 442 votes over Israel Hester with 155.

The polls have come to a close across the State of Arkansas in the race for U.S. Senate in Sharp County, Republican Incumbent John Boozman received 4,841 votes, Democrat Natalie James 977 votes and Libertarian Kenneth Cates 199. Statewide, Boozman received 65.77 percent, James 31.06 percent and Cates 3.17 percent. 

In the race for First District, Congressman Rick Crawford 4,989 votes and Democrat Monte Hodges 1,014 votes. Statewide Crawford 74.61 percent and Hodges 25.39 percent.

Three candidates ran for Governor with Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders receiving 4,811 votes, Democrat Chris Jones 1,052 votes and Libertarian Ricky Dale Harrington Jr., 175 votes. Statewide Sanders 62.98, Jones 35.18 and Harrington 1.83 percent.

Three candidates are also on the ballot for Lt. Governor, Republican Attorney General Leslie Rutledge received 4,881 votes, Democrat Kelly Ross Krout 929 votes and Libertarian Frank Gilbert 202 votes. Statewide, Rutledge 64.23 percent, Krout 32.09 percent and Gilbert 3.67 percent. 

For the race of Secretary of State, Republican Incumbent John Thurston 4,948 votes and Democrat Anna Beth Gorman with 1,040 votes. Statewide Thurston received 67.16 percent and Gorman 33.94 percent.

In the race for State Treasurer, Republican State Representative Mark Lowery received 4,920 votes and Democrat Pam Whitaker 1,050 votes. Statewide Lowery 66.29 percent and Whitaker 33.71 percent.

In the race for State Representatives District 2, Republican Trey Steimel received 2,408 votes and Libertarian Teresa Norman 515 votes. Districtwide, Steimel 88.83 percent and Norman 16.17 percent.

Issue 2 Statewide: 40.84 percent for and 59.16 against.

Issue 4 Statewide: 43.75 for and 56.25 percent against.

For: 1,357

Against: 2,290

In Izard County Horseshoe bend will see a new Mayor with Duane DeClair coming ahead with 482 votes over Craig Huckaby with 438.

For Alderman Ward 1, Position 1, Luther Yancey received 64 votes over Jeremiah Dunklee with 46; Ward 1, Position 2, Loretta Purkey 56 over Kathi Purnell with 54; Ward 2, Position 1, Jeanette Hilliker 170 and Brian Thomas 128; Ward 2, Position 2, David Harmon 151 and Brett Martin 139; Ward 3, Position 1 Uriah Mead 88 and George Worthington 88; Ward 3, Position 2, George Williamson 95 and Jackie Kizer 83; Ward 4, Position 1, Carol Spencer 188 and Josh Jackson 130.

For the Constable position in the GID Township, Rusty Tate received 56 votes and Ty Grimes 41.

For J.P. District 8, Adam Cooper received, 399 and Glendon Everett 190.

In Fulton County, in the race for Fulton County Judge, Kenneth Crow received the majority votes with 2,909 and Todd Doty followed with 1,043.

In the race for sheriff, Jacob “Jake” Smith came ahead with 3,175 with Dallas Montgomery following with 753 votes. 

For J.P. District 2, Dustin Kinder received 307, John Emery 128 and Justin Luther 90.

In Mammoth Spring, Danny Bush received 219 in the race for mayor and June Grant 53.

For Mammoth Spring Ward 1 Position 1, Robert Bennet came away with 170 over Charles Vaugn who received 90 votes.

For Ward 2, Position 1 Barry O’Dell received 167 and Roy Dan Grant received 84 votes.
