New research has revealed the states where Arkansans are moving to the most, with Texas coming out on top.
The study by moving experts at Forbes Home analyzed the latest available state-to-state migration data from the U.S. Census Bureau, which detailed where people in each state had been living one year before, to discover how many Americans are moving—and where they’re moving to.
According to the study, the top five states that Arkansans are moving to are:
- Texas
- Oklahoma
- Tennessee
- Missouri
- Florida
Texas
The latest data shows that Texas is the most popular destination for residents moving out of Arkansas, with 12,341 people making the move during the year of the study.
Oklahoma
Oklahoma is the second most popular destination for moving Arkansans, with 7,421 people making the move during the year of the study.
Tennessee
5,252 people moved from Tennessee to Arkansas in 2019, giving the state the third-place position.
Missouri
Missouri comes in fourth place, with 4,768 people moving there from Arkansas during the year of the study.
Florida
Florida rounds out the top five, with 3,544 Arkansas residents moving to the state in 2019.
