February 5th marks the deadline to register to vote in the preferential primary election, nonpartisan and other upcoming elections.

This election will be held March 5. The preferential primary election will determine which candidate from each political party; for example, republican or democrat that will move on to the general election in November. In some cases, the march 5 election will produce a winner.

To register in Arkansas, you must fill out a paper voter registration application. You can pick up an application at your local county clerk’s office located at your home county courthouse.

You may also obtain an application from the Arkansas Secretary of State Elections Division, local revenue or Department of Motor Vehicle Office, public library, disability agency or military recruitment office.

Forms may also be printed and mailed, or a request can be made for an application to be mailed to you at sos.arkansas.gov.

Once your local county clerk has processed your voter registration application, he or she will send you a personalized voter registration card which may take several weeks.
