This Day in Arkansas Weather History…The Tichnor Hail Storm and Tornado of September 25, 2011…

On September 25, 2011, severe thunderstorms moved across eastern Arkansas. One cell produced hail up to 3.25 inches in diameter northwest of Tichnor, and produced a brief, weak EF0 tornado there.

The hail damaged several homes and vehicles, and the tornado uprooted trees and removed roof shingles. Also on this day in Arkansas Weather History…1832 – Light frost occurred at Little Rock. 1931 – Highs of 100 occurred at Booneville, Conway, and Dumas. 1960 – Five inches of rain fell at Hot Springs. 2019 – Isolated severe storms produced hail near Jonesboro and wind damage in portions of Independence County and Poinsett County.#arwx#wxhistory
