Owl Diaries: Eva’s Treetop Festival by Rebecca Elliott

Reviewed by Susan Funnell

Eva’s Treetop Festival, is the first book of the Owl Diaries series written by Rebecca Elliott. This is a sweet and beautifully illustrated chapter book that would appeal to 1st and 2nd grade girls. This book is written in a diary form.

This book is about a young owl named Eva Wingdale. Eva lives in a tree house and loves crafts and being creative. One thing Eva doesn’t like is asking for help. Eva has a best friend that lives next door to her. Her name is Lucy Beakman, and they have sleepovers all the time and are in the same class.

Eva gets bored and decides she wants to have a festival at school, so she asked her teacher if they could have one and Miss Featherbottom, the teacher (love her name!) said yes and she should ask for help with the festival. Instead of asking for help Eva decided she was going to do it on her own. Of course Eva was in over her head. Was she going to ask for help? Would everything be done on time? Would they have to cancel the festival? You will have to come to the Ash Flat Library and fine out!
