A non-complaint sex offender from Oklahoma is facing multiple felony charges in Sharp County after a traffic stop near Ravenden.
According to the affidavit for warrant of arrest for Leo K. Stowers filed June 16, on June 5 an officer with the Ravenden Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle following a report of a man attempting to sell marijuana to individuals and flashing a firearm at the gas station in Ravenden.
The stop occurred in Sharp County near the intersection of Highway 58 and US-63.
Due to the nature of the call, the Arkansas State Police were requested and two troopers arrived on scene.
The odor of Marijuana could be detected and a pat down search for weapons was conducted resulting in the discovery of a small pistol.
Additionally, two bags of marijuana, 9 grams of suspected psylocibin mushrooms and some various pills were confiscated.
Stowers was also found to have multiple felony convictions and is a non-complaint status as a registered sex offender out of the State of Oklahoma and previous convictions for felon in possession of firearm.
As a result, Stowers has been charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a class Y felony; possession of firearms by certain persons, class B felony; possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance with purpose to deliver, a class B felony; possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance with purpose to deliver, a class C felony; possession of a controlled substance schedule VI with purpose to deliver, a class C felony.
Bond for Stowers has been set at $15,000.
