In preparation for the 2024 Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024, Sharp County is implementing CERT teams in our area. The CERT course (Community Emergency Response Team) educates volunteers about preparedness for hazards that may impact their area. Each CERT team member will work with their local first responders to take care of tasks during times of need that allows the professional responders to focus on more complex tasks. The CERT course is available online. Interested persons should contact their local fire chiefs for more information on how to get started. Once online training is completed, a workshop will be set up to go through the skills outlined in the CERT training, and allow the participants to get hands on experience, and get signed off on by professional responders.
CERT teams members will work under their local first responders during times of need.

Look to the right side of the page and hit the register button.
Fill out the registration page with your information.
Under “Your CERT Organization” select “Other Not Listed”
Hit the Create button.
Once your online training is completed, get the certificate to your local first responders who will be able to give you the information for the skills and sign off workshop once it is scheduled.
