A Fulton County woman faces multiple charges after agents with the Fugitive Task Force along with deputies from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department traveled to a residence on Pickren Hall Road seeking a wanted fugitive at the residence of 26-year-old Courtney Burk.

According to an affidavit filed Aug. 16, when officers arrived, two young children answered the door and told authorities no parents were home but a short time later, Burk came to the door.

Officers explained they were seeking a fugitive and asked permission to search the property with Burk granted.

While searching for the fugitive inside the residence, agents located a clear bag containing methamphetamine as well as a glass smoking device in plain sight.

Burk commented she had used methamphetamine just a few hours prior to the arrival of officers with two children under the age of two present at the residence.

As a result, Burk was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia with purpose to use methamphetamine, a class D felony and endangering the welfare of a minor, a class D felony.
