Cody Rivers Redding, 27, of Fulton County now faces 14 counts of rape, a class Y felony; two counts of sexually grooming a child, a class D felony and two counts of sexual indecency with a child a class D felony after a six-year-old victim told a grandparent about games of “kiss and lick” Redding started “playing” with her.
According to an affidavit of warrant of arrest filed Aug. 5 for Redding who was taken into custody by authorities Aug. 3,the same date the victim reported the assaults, an interview with the Crimes Against Children was conducted.
The victim was shown a diagram of a male and female and was able to identify certain parts of the anatomy, able to describe adult toys Redding would use on the victim and told authorities Redding had tried to have intercourse multiple times and shown videos of pornography to demonstrate his desires.
Investigators with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and Crimes Against Children Division conducted a post Miranda interview with Redding who corroborated the statements the victim had shared with investigators. Redding told authorities he had had intercourse with the victim and had been attempting to have intercourse with the child for approximately a year and a half.
Bond for Redding has been set at $350,000.
