In response to feedback received during a public meeting held on August 21, 2025, the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has revised the design for a proposed project to construct an eastbound passing lane on Highway 62 between the Baxter County line and Highway 87 in Fulton County.

In response to public comments, the revisions include:

Flatten the hill immediately east of the intersection of Handcove Road and Highway 62 by three feet; and
Shift the alignment of this intersection to the south.

The revised design will increase the intersection’s sight distance and enhance visibility for drivers turning into and out of Handcove Road. ARDOT appreciates the feedback received from the public and remains committed to ensuring the project reflects the needs and priorities of the community.
