A nationally known grief support program called “GriefShare” is being offered to the community on Tuesday mornings from 10am – noon starting January 11th at Peace Lutheran Church (located at the south entrance to Cherokee Village).
GriefShare is a special 13 week seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life and offer help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, parent, family member, or friend. The group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help others through the difficult times following the loss of a loved one.
The format is a weekly video presentation featuring various experts and testimonies, followed by a time of group discussion, and then a daily workbook is utilized at home to personalize and implement the suggestions offered.
The cost for the program is $15 to purchase the workbook. While the program utilizes a Christian understanding of care and healing, it is a non-denominational approach, and it will still be beneficial to those who do not share the Christian faith.
One can come and benefit from the group anytime (need not be there at the start date). If you’d like more information, contact us at Peace Lutheran church– (870) 257-3957, or see the GriefShare website: www.griefshare.org.
