The Paul Harris and the Cleverlys show, scheduled for September 23, has been relocated to the Izard County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by Grassroots Equipment and Outdoors and Townsend Spice and Supply, the move is a result of increasing hesitance to host large events indoors due to a rise in COVID cases locally. Originally slated for the Miller Auditorium at Ozarka College, event planners agreed to move the event to the Fairgrounds for a safer, outdoor venue.
The concert will be held at the Izard County Fairgrounds and will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds will benefit the Earnie Blackley Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Steaks 4 Sheepdogs.
“Steaks 4 Sheep Dogs is an organization that comes to the aid of fallen officers and their families. Losing Earnie was a huge blow to this community, and we felt like hosting a concert in his memory would be the least we could do to honor a life dedicated to law enforcement, and public service. It is our hope that this fundraiser will endow a scholarship in his name,” said Shane Linn, owner of Townsend Spice & Supply.
Tickets are on sale for $20 online at foundation.ozarka.edu.
Originally planned for April 2020, the benefit concert to honor Sheriff Blackley was rescheduled due to the pandemic. To learn more about how to support Ozarka College Foundation scholarships, please contact Mrs. Suellen Davidson at [email protected] or (870) 368-2059.
