The Sharp County Detention Center will be open to the public on a special day. The center will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8. Following the ribbon cutting, the facility will be open to the public to tour until 4 p.m. “We would like to invite everyone out to tour this new state of the art facility. The Honorable Governor Asa Hutchison will be attending the ceremony,” said a press release from Sharp County Judge Gene Moore. Social distancing will be enforced.
