On 5/29/24 at approximately 9:03pm Cherokee Village Police Officer Dominic Fortner was dispatched to 105 Cherokee Road in regards to a female (Jamie Reece) that had been run over. The caller ( who has asked for her name to be removed) stated that a red pick-up truck had pulled into her drive-way and the occupants exited the truck. When the witness opened her garage door, a white male later identified as Justin Hale jumped back into the truck and sped away, leaving behind and running over the victim (passenger) in the process. Officers arrived on scene to find Reece severely injured. Reece was then air-lifted to UAMS in Little Rock. Her condition is unknown at this time. Officers later found the vehicle used in the assault abandoned at a residence on Nine-Mile Ridge Road. The suspect was apprehended at the Ponderosa Motel at approximately 11:00pm and jailed at the Sharp County Jail on an investigative hold with pending charges of Aggravated Assault, Battery 1stDegree and Leaving the scene of an accident with injury.
