A man is facing multiple charges in Fulton County after attacking multiple people and shooting at a home filled with women and children.

According to the affidavit for warrant of arrest for 39-year-old James Short on Dec. 18, the series of incidences leading to the charges against Short began when Short and the initial victim began to argue at their home and the altercation turned physical.

Short left after the initial fight and the victim called a female friend for help to come and take the victim and her children to another location.

Once at the home of the friend, Short arrived and punched the victim’s friend in the face before leaving.

Short returned to the second victim’s residence a second time; however, this time another male was present. Short punched the male but when the male punched Short in return, Short ran to his vehicle and returned with a shotgun, proceeding to chase the male victim around the yard and property until he lost sight of the man.

As the victims were calling the police, Short used his shotgun to shoot the front of the house, breaking the glass out of the front door. He then entered the residence with the gun.

Short eventually left and was later arrested in Baxter County and was found in possession of the firearm he’d used to shoot the home.

As a result, Short has been charged with aggravated residential burglary, a class Y felony; endangering a minor in the first degree, a class D felony; aggravated assault, a class D felony; second degree endangering a minor, a class A misdemeanor; third degree endangering a minor, a class A misdemeanor, third degree battery, a class A misdemeanor and third degree domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
