On March 26th, 2024, the Izard County Sheriffs Office assisted the Arkansas State Police on a search warrant executed in the 200 block of Highway 56 in Calico Rock at the residence of Mark Vangorder. The search warrant was the result of a joint investigation between the Arkansas Attorney General’s office, the Arkansas State Police, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Izard County Sheriff’s Office. The search led to the discovery of thousands of files of child sexual abuse material allegedly downloaded and shared from Vangorder’s residence.
Vangorder is being charged with 100 counts of DISTRIBUTING, POSSESSING, OR VIEWING OF MATTER DEPICTING SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONDUCT INVOLVING A CHILD
Vangorders bond is set at 250,000.00
